My name is Daniel Fitzgerald, and I am currently starting my 2nd year as Principal of Olton High School. I have had the privilege of being in education for 16 years serving in various capacities including: teaching, coaching, curriculum coordinator, and was an associate principal prior to coming to Olton High School. I do not view the young men and women we work with as students, but instead as scholars, since the definition of scholar is “a specialist in a particular branch of study”. One of our primary responsibilities as educators is to provide the necessary tools, support, and opportunities for our OHS Scholars to be Ready to Go, Ready to Grow, and Ready to Go as high school is the bridge to their post secondary career and college opportunities. The theme at OHS that was started last year, and that will continue to build upon this year is “Setting the Blue Standard”. We want to set this standard in everything that we do both inside and outside of the classroom, and look forward to another amazing year. The partnership between school and home is of utmost importance to the success of our scholars, and I look forward to continuing to work alongside you all to build positive relationships, maintain open lines of communication, and support the young men and women of Olton High School to accomplish their goals for their future.
